I started Once Upon a Cheerio back in 2016 as an Instagram account. BB had just turned one at the time, and I was looking for a platform to share my crafting hobby with the world.
Unfortunately, I wasn't always consistent with updating, because let's face it, sometimes life gets in the way. I also took some time off Instagram while I was trying to set up this blog.
This is a one-person show after all, and I can only dedicate so much time to it given that I now have two little ones at home.
Today, my Instagram account turns two, and to celebrate, I decided to share with you a crochet pattern that I have been working on, my Instagram purse!
When I started my Instagram account, they were still using the old logo, and to be honest, I still prefer the old logo; it's more nostalgic. You may have seen many other crochet Instagram purse designs out there, and this is just my variation of it.
The final measurements are 8" x 8". I went through three iterations of the purse before I was happy with it. If you are interested, you can read about the design process and some behind-the-scenes of creating a crochet pattern here.
Remember to like Once Upon a Cheerio on Facebook. I'd also love it if you followed @onceuponacheerio on Instagram!
Don't have time to make it right this instant? Pin it for later!
This crochet pattern is available for FREE on this website. If you'd like an ad-free printable PDF version, you can purchase it for a small fee from my Ravelry shop.

Assembly
You will need the following felt pieces:
- 4 small strips (red, yellow, green, blue)
- 1 black square
- 1 red heart.
I used a glue gun to attach the felt pieces to the camera purse, but you can sew them on if you prefer.
And there you have it, your very own Instagram Crocheted Purse!
Then, don't forget to attach your D-rings on both sides of the purse and then your purse handle/strap. I ordered a strap for my purse, but it hasn't arrived yet. I was so excited to publish this crochet pattern so I made a really long crocheted chain for now as a replacement.
Did you make your own Crocheted Instagram Purse? I'd love to see it! Please share it with me on Instagram and/or use the #onceuponacheerio hashtag.

Hi i am lost in 1st round itself. How did you get 52 stitches?
Hi! You make 23 sc, then at the last chain, you make 3 sc, you turn your work and make 23 sc on the other side of the chain, and then you make 3sc on the last chain.
