Spring is here and Easter is just around the corner!
Who recalls painting Easter eggs when they were young? From what I can remember, I think I've only painted Easter Eggs once or twice in my life and it was MESSY!
Not only was it messy, but it never looked as beautiful as it did in picture books. I think at some point, I've just given up.
It wasn't until I had kids that Easter eggs and egg hunting had suddenly become a thing again. And things get even crazier when you have a child who's addicted to sugar and chocolate. But in all honesty, who can blame her.
I actually created these carrot egg cozies last year, but by the time I finished writing up the crochet pattern, Easter was like the next day.
So I figured I would keep it in my back pocket and showcase my egg cozies this year instead.
These egg cozies were designed with a drawstring top so you can close them up once your egg is inside. You can even use them as just a drawstring pouch if you like.
I actually had a small stash of plastic Easter eggs that I got on clearance a couple years ago and use for various projects.
For example, I've used it to make baby rattles in the past by putting a few beads (or rice), taping them, and stuffing them inside amigurumi.
Then it occurred to me to use them to stuff my larger amigurumis to save on poly-fil stuffing but also to help keep its shape.
I guess that's another way to keep these plastic eggs out of our landfills!
