I was cleaning out my phone of photos and realized that I had several crochet patterns that I have yet to write up and publish on the blog. I had initially forgotten about this delightful pattern.
Luckily, I have a good habit of taking notes, so I don't forget how to make things. But I can't keep this crochet pattern all to myself when I can share it work the world!
I'm so excited to share this pattern with you, especially as we gear up for back-to-school season. Trust me, this crochet leaf `sprout makes for an adorable gift.
At the time I designed these leaf sprouts, my little BB was just starting Kindergarten that year? So there were three times the amount to get organized: my work life, my blog, and my child.
One of the best things about this crochet leaf sprout is its versatility. Not only can it be used as a cute bookmark, but it can also double up as a cute cable tie to keep your cords organized.
More recently, these crocheted leaf sprouts become a viral trend on TikTok as a headphones accessory!
These leaf bookmarks are really cute, quick to make, and a great stash-buster to help you get rid of those little balls of leftover yarn that are too small for anything else.
If you are preparing for craft fairs and markets, these crochet leaf sprouts are your new best friend! Not only are they quick and easy to make, but they're also incredibly practical and eye-catching.
People love unique and multifunctional items, and these leaf sprouts check off all the right boxes. Your customers won't be able to resist their charm!

Is the leaf tie pattern able to be worked where a thin wire could be crocheted into it? Such as making it almost like a twist-tie? Not sure how that could be worked in but wanted to ask if you had any experience or knowledge of how the pattern is adjusted to do that. :) thank you!
I'm sure you can make it work somehow by either making single crochets around the wire, or making an i-cord with a wire inside it.
I'm going to try these for an upcoming market. Thanks for sharing your pattern, hopefully the kids will like them.
Hello, I'm in charge of adult craft program at the library I work at and wondered if you could answer this question for me. This pattern will be the next project we're doing and I was wondering how much yarn would you say is a comfortable amount to cut from a skein to give to each of our participants. We try to make it so that each participant can take everything they need home for any particular project and want to make sure they would have enough yarn going home. The times I made this pattern, I wasn't really measuring as I went. Thank you for any help!
Hi Sandra! That sounds really exciting. What you can do is that you can complete one of the leaf sprouts first, and then use a kitchen scale to measure how much yarn was used and then divide your big ball of yarn that way?
Okay so I didn't have a way to weigh the project but I ended up measuring out two yards and saw where that got me in the project. It ends up making a leaf and there's still a little extra. In total, just to be safe, I'm going to give our participates 5 yards of yarn for the project which should be enough to make either style. Thanks for the help!
