When I crocheted my first Enchanted Princess Taylor Swift amigurumi doll, I was thrilled with how adorable she turned out. Her purple ombre three-tiered dress captured the essence of Taylor’s Eras Tour performance perfectly.
But as I admired her, I kept thinking—her dress could be even more poofy! After all, the real-life gown is all about that dramatic, princess-like volume. So, I decided to give her a makeover, and I couldn’t be happier with the result.
The second version of this doll takes elegance to a whole new level. By adding more stitches and incorporating additional ruffles into the skirt, the dress now has the fuller, poofy look I was envisioning.
The added volume enhances the ombre tiers, giving them a cascading effect that feels both magical and true to Taylor’s iconic gown. Despite the added fullness, I made sure the doll could still stand on her own—a must-have feature for displaying her on a shelf or desk.
Most of the amigurumi doll pattern remained the same, which means if you’ve already tried the original version, you’ll find this one easy to adapt. The main difference lies in the skirt, where I increased the stitch count to create a more dramatic flare.
The extra ruffles add a touch of elegance that makes the dress look even more princess-like, which I know my daughter—and many other Swifties—will adore.
The process of tweaking the design was a lot of fun and reminded me why I love crocheting so much. There’s always room for creativity, experimentation, and making something even better than before.
This second version feels like a celebration of Taylor’s fairytale-inspired Speak Now era, with every stitch capturing the magic and beauty of that performance.
Whether you’re a fan of the original doll or eager to try this fuller version, I hope you’ll find inspiration in the process. Sometimes, a little extra "poof" is all it takes to bring a project to the next level.
Let me know which version you prefer, and don’t forget to share your own creations—I’d love to see how you bring your favorite Taylor looks to life in crochet!

Notes
- This pattern is written using US crochet terms.
- Complete the pieces in the specified order to ensure proper assembly later.
- I made this amigurumi doll using the "Yarn Under Single Crochet" technique. This technique makes the stitches tighter and appears more aligned.
- When working on the hairpiece, I used the underside of the piece as the "outside" or the side that is showing. The curls of the strands will follow a natural curl towards the face.
- Crochet in continuous spiral rounds. Do not join at the end of each round unless otherwise stated. Use a running stitch marker to keep your place when crocheting in rounds.
- Use the invisible fasten-off method to neatly finish the skirts before weaving in the ends.
- Optional: Use the half-color changing technique if you want cleaner lines from color changes.
- Optional: Use the invisible increase and invisible decrease for a nicer finish.
- Finished measurements: approximately 16 cm / 6.3 inches
